Student Behavior Policy
ANPS is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of every student. By setting clear expectations for behavior, celebrating positive conduct, and addressing misconduct in a fair and restorative way, we aim to develop responsible, compassionate global citizens.
Purpose
This policy aims to:
- Promote positive behavior aligned with UAE cultural values.
- Establish a clear Student Code of Conduct that applies inside and outside school.
- Prevent and address bullying and misconduct through structured, fair procedures.
- Support students who face challenges in meeting expectations through targeted interventions.
Positive Behavior Model
ANPS follows a Positive Behavior Model:
- Respect for UAE National Identity and Culture: Students are expected to honor local values, traditions, and diversity.
- Positive School Environment: We maintain a safe, inclusive, and caring campus where all students feel valued.
- Social-Emotional Learning: Students are guided to develop empathy, self-regulation, and teamwork.
- Parental Engagement: Parents are partners in promoting positive conduct.
- Early Identification: Staff monitor and support students at risk of behavioral difficulties.
ANPS Student Code of Conduct
Students are expected to:
- Act Safely & Responsibly: Follow school rules, behave responsibly in class, and represent the school positively in public.
- Engage in Learning: Be punctual, attend regularly, complete assignments, and contribute positively to class.
- Promote Wellbeing: Encourage peers, report misconduct (including bullying), and uphold school values.
Misconduct & Disciplinary Procedures
Levels of Misconduct
ANPS categorizes misconduct into four levels:
- Level 1: Minor infractions (lateness, uniform violations, misuse of devices).
- Level 2: Moderate infractions (leaving class without permission, verbal abuse, refusal to follow safety rules).
- Level 3: Serious infractions (bullying, academic dishonesty, vandalism, leaving school without permission).
- Level 4: Critical infractions (prohibited objects or substances, major assault, leaking exams, illegal activities).
Disciplinary Process
Discipline approach:
- Verbal Warning
- Written Warning
- Parent Meeting
- Onsite Suspension
- Offsite Suspension
- Expulsion
Every stage includes root-cause analysis, counseling, and parent engagement before escalation.
Support & Interventions
- Students receive tiered interventions (universal, targeted, intensive) depending on need.
- The school will create Behavior Support Plans if required.
- Students with documented additional learning needs are supported in line with their IEP.
Record Keeping & Confidentiality
All incidents, interventions, and communications are recorded securely and treated as confidential in accordance with ADEK and UAE data protection regulations.
Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed annually. Updates will be shared with all stakeholders.
