Across the Middle and High School, we guide students through one connected journey — from the curiosity and discovery of Key Stage 3 to the focus and independence of IGCSE, International A Levels and the IB Diploma Programme.

Middle School at Al Najah Private School is a purposeful bridge between the foundations of Primary School and the increasing independence of IGCSE study. Across Years 7–9, students follow a broad, KS3-aligned programme that strengthens core knowledge while encouraging curiosity, creativity, practical problem-solving and confident communication.
These are important years of discovery. Students begin to recognise their strengths, explore a wide range of subjects and develop the learning habits they will need for Year 10 and beyond. Through structured teaching, practical experiences and close pastoral support, we help students become more organised, reflective and responsible without losing the enthusiasm that makes learning meaningful.
The Middle School curriculum is deliberately broad. It gives students opportunities to think in different ways, communicate across languages, investigate scientific questions, design and build, create, perform, collaborate and stay active.

Middle School learning is not limited to textbooks. Students investigate in laboratories, build and program in robotics, present ideas, solve interdisciplinary challenges, create artwork, take part in performances and apply learning to unfamiliar situations. These experiences make concepts memorable and help students understand how knowledge connects across subjects and beyond school.
Preparation for IGCSE begins well before students select their Year 10 pathway. Throughout Years 7–9, teachers progressively develop the skills that matter most in external courses: independent study, accurate written communication, mathematical fluency, scientific reasoning, research, revision, time management and the ability to respond to feedback.
In Year 9, this preparation becomes more explicit. Students and parents receive guidance on IGCSE subjects, modular and linear examination routes, English placement, future university considerations and the expectations of High School. The aim is to make the transition informed and confident rather than sudden.
Academic growth is closely connected to wellbeing. Class advisors, teachers, supervisors, counsellors and school leaders work together to support students as they manage friendships, increasing expectations and the personal changes of early adolescence. Students are taught to communicate respectfully, seek support, manage their responsibilities and take ownership of their choices.
Students begin to find their voice through assemblies, clubs, competitions, science and robotics activities, language celebrations, art showcases, sports, student leadership and community initiatives. These experiences help students build confidence and discover interests that may later shape their IGCSE choices and future goals.
