Anti-Bullying Policy

Purpose

At ANPS, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students. Bullying in any form is not tolerated. This policy outlines the procedures in place to prevent and address bullying, and to support both the victims and those involved in bullying behaviour.

Definition of Bullying

Bullying is defined as repeated, intentional behaviour that causes physical, emotional, or psychological harm to another person. It can be verbal, physical, social, or digital in nature.

Preventive Measures

• Ongoing awareness campaigns and classroom discussions
• Social-emotional learning activities
• Code of conduct prominently displayed and explained to students
• Clear communication channels for reporting incidents

Reporting and Response Procedures

Students are encouraged to report any incidents of bullying. They are aware of the appropriate reporting pathway:

1. Class Teacher
2. Grade Supervisor
3. Head of School
4. School Social Worker

All reports are taken seriously and are followed by timely and appropriate action.

Consequences for Bullying Behaviour

If a student is found to be involved in bullying:

• An Incident Form is filed and documented.
• The student may face internal suspension depending on the severity and frequency of the incident.
• Parents are contacted and informed of the situation.
• A meeting with the parents is conducted to discuss the matter and necessary next steps.

Support and Intervention

• Students who are bullied will receive emotional support and counselling from the school social worker, if needed.
• Students who bully others will also be referred to the social worker for behavioural intervention and reflection sessions.
• Follow-up meetings ensure the issue is resolved and that no further incidents occur.

Monitoring and Review

The Anti-Bullying Policy is reviewed annually by school leadership to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and aligned with best practices.
